Empathinko has a powerful set of tools designed to be used by our clients to flourish in a leadership setting. Personality Colours (EPC) is one of those tools that enables clients to gain an understanding of their reactive personality styles and their default preferences. This is the essence of what we call the way you wound up being. Understanding the way a person wound up being helps them identify the path to transformation and the behaviors needed to improve balance and effectiveness at work and in life.

At Empathinko we use our unique Leadership System illustrated in the diagram below as a relational intelligence circuit for creating solutions and interventions in any complex social problem. (See below)

It all starts however, by understanding your own personality type. Understanding the way you wound up being, your unconscious bias, your default preferences and how the world occurs for you, allows the conversation for transforming your ways of being or any complex issue to move forward. You can also be more supportive and a better leader for others when you know their personality types.

The Purpose of Personality Profiling

There exists over forty determined characteristics of personality types that we at Empathinko can train and coach our clients to work with. We encourage people to maintain the awareness, that the primary purpose of personality profiling, is to know that we are all different. The profile result is a useful starting point for understanding some of this difference. Without some description and explanation of rudimentary differences between people it is very common for individuals to think that everyone should be like them. This then can lead to conflict, criticism and lack of respect in relationships.

Personality traits are considered to remain relatively constant over time. It is, therefore, more effective to look at the traits that a person possesses and how these could be used to one’s advantage than to try to change a trait. Attempting to do the latter is much more difficult if not impossible and requires relatively much more energy. Moreover, a certain trait that is less desirable in some situations can be highly advantageous in another situation, work or otherwise.

Our profiling tool assists individuals, leaders and their teams with understanding the analysis of the individual/group cultural preferences and its default unconscious bias. We can identify the behaviors your group criticizes and the behaviors your group rewards. We can then build on values and behaviors that are inclusive of the other personality types, without members of the group being stressed or feeling threatened. We develop behavioral prompts to elevate effectiveness and performance.

We can then identify the bias of the minorities in your group and build on values and positive behaviors that are inclusive of the personality types in your workplace, without members of the different group being stressed or feeling threatened. We develop behavioral prompts to elevate effectiveness and performance.

Another powerful tool we use is the development of self-portraits. We all have a unique way we see the world and how events occur for us. When we are able to uncover those unique views and ways of being when things occur, it gives us a greater relational intelligence of ourselves and others. Read More
